Small, Glass Wick, Oil Lamps / Candles

Unless otherwise specified, these candles are made from Gabriola Island spalted maple. These candle style lamps have glass insert oil lamps with glass fibre wicks for very long life. The lamps hold about 15 ml (1 Tbsp) of paraffin lamp oil (not included) and come with a small plastic funnel to ease your filling of the lamp. The length of burn time varies tremendously with the trim of the wick (length sticking out). A nice flame that produces no visible smoke and sheds a lovely light can easily last for four hours. Naturally a smaller flame will last longer and a larger flame will burn your oil quicker.

The maple is harvested here on Gabriola Island (just off Vancouver Island in BC, Canada) in the most sustainable of possible ways. Candles finished with beeswax and mineral oil are easy to care for - a touch of either wax or oil on a cloth then rubbed on the wood restores its lustre. Those finished with polyurethane should be cleaned with a dry or lightly damp cloth.
